California Forward Develop platform for a comprehensive statewide engagement program about governance reform. Develop and implement regional dialogues about revenue reform. Pilot regional dialogue featuring local success and innovation.

 

Next 10 Research and communication development to frame and present complex policy issues such as the state budget and infrastructure issues, with the goal of engaging unaffiliated Californians in dialogue about the state’ s future; support in building a statewide network of nonpartisan partners.

 

The Easy Voter Guide Project Multi-lingual, multi-media project that encourages civic participation by enhancing access to nonpartisan information for new voters and busy voters, used by a network of over 1,500 organizations and 60 media groups; project resources are housed at www.easyvoter.org and www.easyvoterguide.org.

 

 

California Choices Help develop positioning, content and launch event for nonpartisan governance reform clearinghouse

 

 

Viewpoint Learning & California Forward Design kickoff meeting for bi-partisan initiative to enhance state governance, plus conducted daylong research dialogues about potential reforms.

 

The League of Women Voters of California Design new civic education formats such as community-reviewed Fast Facts to help provide basic information about state and local government.

 

The California State Library Through the California Voices videoconference and report, underrepresented Californians had an opportunity to speak out to senior policymakers on the issues they chose.

 

The Civic Engagement Project for Children and Families, funded by the David & Lucile Packard Foundation, James Irvine Foundation, Walter & Elise Haas Fund, the Miriam & Peter Haas Fund and the Peninsula Community Foundation – partnering with eight Prop 10 county commissions to increase involvement of under-represented communities in programs to enhance school readiness for children 0 to 5.

 

The Common Ground Project Frame and facilitate community dialogues on welfare reform and affirmative action, in partnership with the San Jose Mercury News.

 

The Los Angeles Times in Education Design civic education program for elementary and middle schools.

 

The Northern California Citizenship Project Increase civic involvement among Spanish, Chinese and Vietnamese speaking new immigrants, funded by Northern California Grantmakers.
